Strategic Professional Development “Within a Fiscally Constrained Environment”
HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass— As Hanscom Air Force Base transitions to fall under the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) and the Department of Defense (DOD) braces itself for the possibility of sequestration, military comptrollers will converge at the Hanscom Air Force Base conference center on 16 August 2012 to learn about the new DOD Financial Management Professional Certification Program.
As the federal budget begins to shrink and the financial world begins to change rapidly, the DOD needs to ensure that financial managers across the board are well trained and can quickly adapt to the rapidly changing fiscal environment. In addition, the DOD Financial Management Professional Certification Program will aid the department in achieving its financial statement auditability goal.
Ms. Glenda H. Scheiner, Director of Human Capital and Resource Management, OUSD (Comptroller), will discuss the DOD Financial Management Professional Certification Program and entertain questions.
Other speakers include: Professor Roberta Tomasini, Professor, Defense Acquisition University; Col C. Fulghum, SAF/FMBP; Ret. Col David Weinberg, SAF/FMEW; Al Tucker, Professor, Defense Acquisition University; Col. L. Weilacher/CC; Chief J. Vanscoy; TSgt M. Williams, AFLCMC/EO; and Ms. R Lavoie, AFLCMC/EO.
Topics range from Earned Value Management, DOD Budget, and current DOD outlook to Fiscal Constraints and Excellent Leadership.
